  4. what i saw 2 nights ago passing under jupiter was the space station. i saw it again last night, so quite defo about it.
  5. i saw a bright light pass below jupiter about 5-45pm wasnt a plane nor a meteor faster than the first and slower than the second. lost it in some cloud cover. did manage to get the scope on it for an instant but not for long enough. also seemed too slow for a satellite.
  6. I would just like to thank you guys for helping me get my tent up on monday. It wasnt ideal conditions for pitching a tent lol. pity i missed the pies and peas on friday, ah well hopefully next time. paul.
  7. try a carpet shop, they have tubes that get binned from carpet and lino rolls. might be big enough and will be strong enough to protect it.
  8. i just had a look on ebay, rechargeable hair drier 26 quid. cheaper still put the e/p in your pocket with a handwarmer. clear by the time you blow your nose, wipe your eyes and stamp your feet, lol

  11. i found it very good for centering the secondary mirror , but i still use the cheshire and laser for the primary. downside is its way overpriced about 50p worth of materials. 60 odd quid badly spent. ah well you live and learn.
  12. welcome to the forum , hope you enjoy
  13. i find the baader morphs great e/ps in my f5 200p but it pays to shop around for prices. hope this helps.
  14. i also found it hard to get a red light that i liked. so decided on a trip into hobby shop. i got a small bottle of red glass paint. now i have all the red torches i need. All you need to do is apply as many layers as you want. it also dries very quickly so you can keep coating if required every couple of minutes. hope this helps.

    Hello!

hi mark welcome to sgl hope you enjoy.
  17. i was considering upgrading the focuser on my 200p ota. i had a look at the prices and thought again. i had a look at the skywatcher auto focuser and liked the price. its turned out 1 of my best buys. excellent product , i dont even have to touch the scope to focus it. so no vibes etc. so maybe an option for you without breaking the bank.
  18. another 1 for an 8" Dobsonian personally i think its a great all round scope and within your budget. It might even be the only scope youll ever need. you will get plenty of other options to look at and consider, enjoy the hunt.
  19. from personal experience, you can spend a lot of money on astro gear for very little improvement, 2 and 3 times the money definately does not mean 2 and 3 times the improvement. if at all possable try before you buy. enjoy the hunt.
  20. another 1 for the baader morphs , i use them in an f5 200p, no probs.
  21. ill be there for the week , pitch blue butterfly T257 , scopes , starfield 102 and 200p reflector . paul.
  22. not sure what all the sizes are but can you use thin plywood the correct height and laminate 2 or 3 layers together till its thick enough and strong enough.
  23. It is nice to be able to thank companies for great service. I ordered a 12.5 Morpheus to complete my set on Thursday morning from Microglobe in London. I received it the next morning in Inverness, excellent service by both Microglobe optics and royal mail.
