  1. Thanks and with you on all that and I would say that I have my balance and PA down too. Guiding is usually good (ie no issues to speak of) and my kit is not that heavy, all up it's about 8Kg (GT81) although I'm in the middle of a swap so will be a little heavier once I'm back up and running again. As far as the sky is concerned I'm in a good 4 so generally no massive issues there either unless the moon is up so yep you've got a good 'un!
  2. That's a wonderful mage no doubt about it but can I ask about the guiding and how you are managing to achieve 0.3/0.35 out of the mount please? I have an AZ-EQ6, so broadly similar, and I will see 0.4 in very short bursts at best but over a night of imaging the best average I will see is 0.7 which I am very happy with but if it can be better then I'm all ears 🙂
  3. Nice image, I have around 24 hours of OSC data on that target that I must get round to looking at properly 🙂
  4. Have you tried adjusting the balance at all? If you have it perfect at the minute then try going one way or the other and see what happens, basically try tweaking it to see if you can improve things before turning things off.
  5. I am in this boat right now and was going 31mm Chroma across the board but for well, reasons, I am almost certainly swapping to 36mm and most likely it will be Antlia LRGB to save a bit of money and Chroma SHO, yeah I know ouch. I could get a very nice scope for the price of the Chromas, tell me about it.....
  6. I must admit I liked the idea of the screw fit adapter but then it just introduced a push fit further down the line and made the cable twice as long..... Unless I get the snips and soldering iron out......
  7. Only just saw this and still testing my new QHY mono camera as don't have my filters yet but I'm using the "standard" cable that came with my Pegasus powerbox as that was already cabled into my setup so yes a normal cable seems to work just fine.
  8. My view is if you're experienced enough you'll know what you're missing in your current software OR you'll know that your happy with your results and that is 99% of it IMHO. When I started I knew nothing, and still don't pretty much, so I jumped right in and bought PI as I could see it was a decent package and thought if plenty of folk can get decent results then at least I know the software won't be at fault so I'll just dive in and learn it. I think it "could" be a mistake hoping a new piece of software could bring about revolutionary new results especially if you're doing well already.....
  9. You missed Stuart's point. You don't "need" wireless or ethernet to run NINA at the scope. Once it's running it's running, yes you can connect to it remotely to see what it's doing and you can do that over wireless or ethernet using RDP or whatever you fancy BUT if that connection breaks NINA and your imaging session just keeps on running no issue, that's what he was on about.....
  10. Hmm, from memory and what I saw, just the integrations I think. Do you not have any fits at all, I mean you don't need many just to run WBPP as it were and once you have it down you can then use "good" data to do real processing if you see what I mean.
  11. I cannot comment on any other data but from what I have seen and understand the SGL data is first class. For test processing it's perfect as any resulting issues are down to the processing and not the data which is exactly what you need when trying to learn a new tool or process.
  12. What do you mean NINA uses ANSI? Do you mean ASCOM? If you do I'd argue with your view of it being a PITA, it's pretty tried and tested and regardless you need drivers either way. On top of that NINA will use native drivers for a lot of devices too so I think your view is off quite a bit.
  13. Nice image. I've not looked lately but assume it's very low for you so great work!
  14. Unless you're on a mission to minimise your calibration files I wouldn't let amp glow influence your purchase anyway as it'll calibrate out in even the worst case scenario.
  15. Not really sure on either of those but my hunch would be that NINA is using something other than powershell as its programming language to be honest and your serial port thing I suspect that's just the command processor reporting back and nothing to do with NINA at all.
  16. Ok that's just the current working directory and if the output was being sent to the screen "normally" you'd see it, just like you are in Sharpcap. I thought you meant that the actual commands were being echoed to the screen but of course I turned echo on when I tried it but yep that made no difference anyway.
  17. It depends how far from the sensor the filters are but generally 36mm would usually be sufficient.
  18. Yep Esprit 100 now £1899, pretty sure early last year it was sat around £1350 if memory serves me correctly when I went for the less expensive GT81 instead which is still at the same sort of price...... If only I'd known as I've considered upgrading a couple of times 🙂
  19. Hmm that I don't know as NINA is the only one I really use. I've struggled to search and find anything else of "use" but now you've mentioned that I'll have a look for it 🙂
  20. Yep, he replied to the query about the command processor too but said he didn't really use the feature so wasn't sure. I did ask if he'd coded it to be "silent" but no further replies on the subject although things do get lost in all the traffic so I had to ping him directly but don't like to do it too often.
  21. Start a separate thread if needed but what are you struggling with, happy to help if I can? Do you realise you can "export" anything from the basic sequencer into the advanced sequencer if you wish anyway?
  22. You'll need to get rid of those lines as they won't be in your normal lights I'm afraid. What about sheets of A4 or even A3 rather lol?
  23. You'd be wise to search a few threads on here is all I'd say..... Edit - Sorry you did ask for other options 🙂
