Pegasus UPB V2 and Ekos
Stuart1971 replied to MarkAR's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
Yes, I have the UPB V2 working with ekos... All you do is choose the Pegasus UPB INdI driver in the auxillary menu in the profile and set it up in INdI control panel, there is a tab for each section of the UPB.., no need to even open any of the windows software first.... ๐ -

Why do you have to change direction on UPB...? Are the โinโand โoutโ the wrong way round as that was supposed to be fixed....? -
EdgeHD 8 and Lakeside Focuser issues
Stuart1971 replied to souls33k3r's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
Yes, I think you would be much better with a motorised Crayford focuser on the back of your SCT, as has been said, with the mirror shift it will never work, I tried it a few years back, and someone gave me this advice, I took it and never looked back..... ๐๐ -
Lol, I doubt that very much.... ๐ but still good all the same....
-
Yes, that will cause this issue, of camera rotated after calibration... ๐ฎ

Iโm not missing the point at all, I know itโs not the drivers fault, but the problems are company wide... so take a chill pill..... ๐คช๐คช
-
I think that during current circumstances you need to be a tad more patient, after all, these delivery drivers are keeping many of us from going stir crazy, being stuck inside, at least we can buy new toys to play with.... ๐๐ Fo me they are bringing DIY supplies โน๏ธ

yes exactly, hence asking whether people actually are honest about what is in the package....as if itโs get lost, then it does not matter what is in it... ๐ and your can still claim.... assuming you had it insured....if you get my drift.... In saying that I had a scope go missing, with Hermes once, and got a full refund from Hermes, after one month, then the scope turned up, and got to the intended recipient, and Hermes said, โno problem keep the refund as a goodwill gestureโ well you canโt to better than that, especially when telescopes were on there prohibited list..... So for smaller less valuable items I use Hermes collection every time.. and UPS for bigger more valuable....
-
Actually that is a good point, I have had telescopes and certain accessories refused by DPD and other couriers, but how many people actually state exactly what is in the package, as telescope equipment is one of the things on many couriers prohibited list...they will sometimes ship it, but it wonโt be insured... ๐ค

well here is another survey from the money saving expert, so slightly different, but heโs DPD at the top..but some of the others are in completly different places to the survey you posted....so which is correct...itโs all subjective... ๐ The results of the MoneySavingExpert poll can be found in the table below: Major Delivery Companies โGreatโ Score DPD 63% Collect + 61% DPD Local 56% Royal Mail 55% Amazon Logistics 52% UPS 42% Parcelforce 41% Fed Ex 41% DHL 41% UK Mail 29% Hermes 29% TNT 23% Yodel 21%

Well I donโt believe that for a minute as Hermes are not on there...... ๐ค ๐

Like I said, ask enough people and someone will have had a bad experience with every courier, and yours was with UPS, mine was with Parcel Force.. ๐
-
I use UPS all the time, as they are the best courier service out there....IMHO, I have never had an issue with them, and sent items up to ยฃ1500 in value, but I do always insure them, I have also had many items delivered from Germany to, from astroshop.eu and Teleskop Express and again never an issue...so to be honest this will probably be down to the current issues... and if you do not receive, then I am sure the supplier will refund or send again... ๐๐ At the end of the day there will be someone out there that has had a bad experience with every courier...regardless of current conditions if you ask enough people.. ๐

Canโt answer your question, but if you are looking for an app, I use this, it does cost ยฃ3.99 but itโs the best I have found anywhere... especially the live cloud cover map... https://darksky.net/app

That looks super, wow. Really impressed.... thanks so much...
-
Very much appreciated ๐

That looks absolutely superb, and in black if possible please.... Send me cost and payment details via messages....and very much appreciated in the time you have spent on this, it would take me weeks to even get that CAD drawing done on a PC... ๐ฎ

Yes, I have the correct bolts as I use them in the other end, for connecting to the Losmandy plate, so please all, I do no what size bolts they are.... ๐๐
-
Wow, that looks superb...thanks... The holes go in approx 12mm Into the rings, and as long as the holes in the handle can take 1/4โ bolt then all will be fine...obviously the more material between the bolt head and the scope ring the better / stronger, and I have 1/4โ and M6 Allen bolts of all sizes and lengths....
-
Yes am in the UK.. ๐
-
12mm into the ring, but I have a huge range of different length M6 bolts, from 5mm to 60mm length, so it does not matter how much of the bolt would be in the handle as long as it would be strong enough....also I can cut them to length anyway...
