Yes, I agree they can be somewhat patronising and dismissive and one reason I don’t post there too much, unless i really have to…have had my fair share of patronising remarks and no actual help….they don’t seem to realise we all make mistakes and everyone has to start somewhere….

Soul Nebula - combination of two duoband filters to produce SHO

Excellent image Stuart….well done..👏🏻 -
Might be a stupid question, but is it because you are viewing on a smaller screen, as it looks like a laptop, would it maybe being cut off….🤔 just a thought…

You will need to re install NINA as you have changed the SDK, if you installed with the NINA box checked, even re installing with it unchecked will not put NINA back to it’s proper state…. I made the exact same errors as you a while ago, re the driver box….😮
-
I did this recently too, the driver is very awkward to install, in that you have to make sure that everything you need is checked, if you don’t check a certain box, because you already have that part installed, it will actually un install it…. Aslo make sure you don’t check the NINA box, as that screws it all up…as it changes the SDK

I am only on the release version of NINA 2.1, and also use a 12 month old QHY driver, and I have the humidity display showing up….

Yes, slightly, but as you say it will bring out any noise more, so not sure it looks any better….it looked perfectly fine before, to my eyes anyway….👍🏻

Use the script in PI, called “remove magenta stars” it works very well….👍🏻

Fantastic mage, almost 3D looking, the dust really does stand out…...👏🏻👍🏻

This was my best image of 2022, before I got the mono set up, this was with my QHY268c with L-Extreme filter, approx 5 hours of data, through a Tak FSQ85 on an EQ8 mount. Was quite happy with it at the time, but then saw the corner stars were not great and had to sort out some tilt on the sensor…. The Heart and Fish Head nebula

Yes correct, I did try it and it looked awful doing it after Noise reduction….👍🏻

Anybody that can’t get there head around PI should get another hobby, as the rest is much harder….IMHO…

You are probably correct, you may well be the monkey….😉

TeleGizmos 365 Scope Cover
Stuart1971 replied to sinbad40's topic in Getting Started General Help and Advice
If you have power at the mount all the time, under the cover, then leave a dew strap on low, it will be enough to stop the condensation and keep the temp a few degrees above ambient, I did exactly this for a couple of years under one of those covers, and it solved all the issues….I bought a long 1m dew strap and wrapped it around the mount..👍🏻 -
The static IP address is the way to go, in your router settings there should be an option to make an ip address static, what service provider do you have and what model router…?

I’m also far from an expert, but NoiseX I think is more than enough for controlling the noise… Now as for BlurX on sharpening, well I have not even got around to even trying Deconvolution yet in my PI journey, so again BlurX seems enough for me, especially as it pretty much solved my headache i was getting from not being able to get perfectly round stars in one corner of my images….that was a massive plus for me….👍🏻

I too have just got an QHY268m to go with my QHY268c, But alas will have to use them separately…
