  1. Well after receiving the filters and unpacking it’s really obvious which side it the anti reflective side and which is not, as on the one side they are like a mirror, ( anti reflective side) and the other side is coloured red / purple for the Ha, SII, and blueish for the OIII, this shows a not so good reflection, so according to Optolong the coloured side goes towards the camera sensor, and the more reflective side goes towards the sky…so will try this way round…👍🏻
  2. Check out this link, he has 4 beginner tutorials and they are very good, and he includes the data so you can follow along with him…they are very well explained and easy to follow… https://www.youtube.com/@lukomatico/videos
  3. So you fitted with the most reflective surface towards the camera sensor….now that seems wrong to me, and after testing my 2” Optolong L-extreme and L-enhance, they are the other way round, with reflective surface towards the sky…🤔🤔 or at least that’s how they came fitted in the cell…..
  4. So having decided to get a mono QHY268m camera, I have also bought a set of 36mm Optolong unmounted SHO filters, and have an issue, which way round should they be fitted…🤔🤔 now on the Optolong website it states that the most reflective side should go towards the sky…shown here… https://www.optolong.com/cms/document/detail/id/147.html but ZWO have stated the complete opposite here on the RVO website…this is what they have said… WHICH DIRECTION TO INSTALL THE FILTERS IN? It is a tricky question as we asked various manufacturers and most of these manufacturers think that it doesn't matter, however the manufacturer of ZWO filters advises that the coated side of the filter should face the camera sensor. Well, there is nothing to loose to follow their advice, so lets do it. Now, how to find out which side is the coated? Open the case and remove the filter from its pouch and put it on top of the puch as this is most likely the most dustfree element in your surrounding. Now hold an item, i.e. a pen above the filter, close enough, but make sure that it won't touch the filter. If you see a single reflection as if it was a mirror, that's the coated side; that side should face the camera sensor. If you see a double reflection, that side should face the telescope. so which one is correct….as the filters are the same….🤔🤔🤔
  5. Stunning, it’s amazing how much more detail shows up in starless versions…👏🏻👏🏻
  6. Wow, I never looked at that, that’s cheaper than I paid, and I thought I got a good deal at £1650…😮
  7. They deserve to stay on the shelves…it’s ridiculous TBH…😮😮
  8. Just seen on the UK player one dealer the prices for these new IMX571 cameras….😮😮😮😮😮 https://www.starfieldoptics.co.uk/Deep-Sky-Cameras_c_29.html
  9. EDIT: the mono is down to £1999 at modern astronomy now…😮😮
  10. Oh yes, I never spotted that, there different filters used….🤔
  11. I would agree it does look very decent indeed, and with maybe a 1/3 more exposure time than the mono, they would be very comparable….so is it worth getting the mono camera, or imaging for 1/3 longer, with dedicated narrowband filters with a OSC camera…..🤔🤔 you got me thinking now…
  12. Well, 4 IMX571 mono cameras, all identical and 4 different prices….🤔🤔🤔
  13. Yes, but £200 cheaper than the other links that me and you sent, that was my point….👍🏻
  14. The OSC version for £855 ….😮😮😮 with faster delivery and the store has 100% feedback… https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003268719185.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000014.3.26766b69ABnLEi&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.40050.281175.0&scm_id=1007.40050.281175.0&scm-url=1007.40050.281175.0&pvid=eae5c534-ca81-46de-bb15-536e2cd724c2&_t=gps-id:pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller,scm-url:1007.40050.281175.0,pvid:eae5c534-ca81-46de-bb15-536e2cd724c2,tpp_buckets:668%232846%238115%232000&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id"%3A"12000024941583492"%2C"sceneId"%3A"30050"}&pdp_npi=2%40dis!GBP!900.09!855.08!!!!!%40211b446416688978482784425ee48e!12000024941583492!rec
  15. I asked Eddie about this, and he said there is no tilt adjuster in them, I have got the Baader tilt adjuster with my OSC, and sorted my tilt with that, but not sure I want to spend another £230 on another adjuster, the other option is to have to adjust each time I swap cameras, using my laser jig….🤔🤔 seems a bit of a pain TBH..
  16. Hmmmm, just fount the Mono version nearly £200 cheaper https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003109498898.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000014.2.21595fd22w9shj&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.40050.281175.0&scm_id=1007.40050.281175.0&scm-url=1007.40050.281175.0&pvid=d377538e-c12b-44e3-ba47-c8f614097bd5&_t=gps-id:pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller,scm-url:1007.40050.281175.0,pvid:d377538e-c12b-44e3-ba47-c8f614097bd5,tpp_buckets:668%232846%238115%232000&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id"%3A"12000024138141253"%2C"sceneId"%3A"30050"}&pdp_npi=2%40dis!GBP!794.67!715.21!!!!!%40211b446316688826061818937e2ccd!12000024138141253!rec
  17. I am confused myself now, as it states on the rising cam page, that the VAT is added on the advert but removed when you pay…so does that mean the £1423 price is with VAT and this will be removed when I check out, and then I have to pay it when it reaches the UK…??
  18. Let me know in PM what deal you get, as I am after a mono Version too, tell him to drop the price and he can sell 2…😂 I thought you had the mono version..?
  19. Nearly £2200 for the Omegon, (Touptek) 😮😮 the QHY version here in the UK is over £100 cheaper….
  20. I have just checked by putting camera in my cart, you don’t pay VAT, so would need to be paid here, if it gets stopped….the price you see is what you pay, to Aliexpress, with free delivery…👍🏻
  21. Here you go https://www.aliexpress.com/i/1005002673884516.html VAT would need to be paid, which i think you can pay at the checkout stage
  22. Ah, sorry assumed they were both the same, but if the OP contacts Bernard at MA I’m sure he will accommodate, it’s probably just a glitch on the website….👍🏻
