  1. I think with your FOV you'll have to do a mosaic to get it all in. Framing can take a bit of practice to get right especially with narrow field of view on larger targets.
  2. When you start Ekos, in the Camera, Focus and Guide Modules which camera is showing as selected. Post up a screen shot.
  3. Great start, I think once you have the mechanics of polar alignment and tracking/guiding fine tuned you'll be posting up some great images.
  4. Good start Chris, next step would be longer exposure times. Try 1 min and see how it goes with star shape.
  5. Nice detail showing, just needs a splash of colour.
  6. Do both cams use the same driver ? In the Guide Tab you can click the camera ID tab and it should drop down a menu with your listed cameras.
  7. Is Ekos not seeing your camera at all when you run INDI ? You might have to select a high baud rate and wait for it to scan ports.
  8. Erm ! Stunning comes to mind. Also fabulous and wonderful.
  9. Thanks @Merlin66, you've just saved me from making a faux pas. Thought the 1600 being mono was a CCD.
  10. For ease of use I would say refractor to start with. Reflectors are wider and will catch the breeze more easily ruining images and throwing guiding off. They can also suffer from having too short a focus tube or one that protrudes inside and affects roundness or stars. They also have to be collimated.
  11. Lovely image, I like the wider view and the little galaxies you/ve managed to get as well.
  12. I'm not sure what the Nikon RAW format is, doesn't PI handle it? Good luck with digicamcontrol.
  13. Looks like it didn't register the two nights properly. Do a little processing, identical to both the separate stacks to see if there is a difference in the moonlight ones. If it's not too bad then you can manually align the two nights and blend into one. If it looks worse, then just use the second nights data.
  14. Thanks Wim, I think I had tolerance at 500 or 1000 before and ADU set to 22000.
  15. Lovely image. Still has a slight colour tint to the background. Wonder if masking and hitting it with SCNR might work.
  16. Cheers Terry, first time I ran it calibrating every frame and it came up with 0.275 to 0.282 secs, slight variance for each sub.
  17. ENS Optical has a few from £700, hope you get the Ebay one cheap.
  18. Just a quick question, Do you set up a sequence and let it calibrate every flat or just calibrate the first for each filter and set the rest to manual ?
