  1. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on the 9mm in the morph EP thread Dave 👍
  2. I have put the extension ring in the 6.5 & 4.5 now. The 4.5 has never been an issue for comfort to be honest. However I now find the 6.5 to be an improvement from an eye relief perspective. If I put my eye well pressed on the eye cup I have had some great views of the moon this week with my Bresser AR102s it feels like I kind of need to view somewhere in between the extension spacing as I really press my eye into the eyecup to get the best views. Cheers Baz
  3. That looks ace! Are you out in the middle of nowhere again, after a long drive through Texas?
  4. @Stu & @Johnwhat power are you viewing the moon at? I'm just enjoying it at x66 currently. Very sharp half moon in the full FOV. I will go for a deeper scan at around x120 shortly. Lots of cloud now. Even Sirius has vanished 😢
  5. If its good enough to go on one of your Taks and get the Jeremy seal of approval it's good enough for me 😁 👍
  6. All set up for some lunar. The moon is already looking great at dusk through the 4.5mm morph. its rock steady and very clear. A nice sign! I'm still debating changing the 9x50 finder as it's quite heavy I might go for the Baader red dot mk3 as recommended by one of the pro's around here @JeremyS
  7. I picked up one of these from Flee Bay to stick in the center of my 300p base. Works a treat. "Bullseye Spirit level Bubble" It was about £3 Baz
  8. Hi Nik. So I would require an M48 t ring. And either of the stock 1.25" or 2" skywatcher extensions. Attach the camera to the focuser with this combo and hope it gains focus. If not I do have a Barlow so I can give this a try. All in all then I just need a t ring. Thanks for your help 👍
  9. Hi all. Can anyone advise what I would require to attach my wifes canon 250d to a 300p focuser? I would like to try and use it to get some lunar pics. Thank you Baz
  10. Hi Amaury https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapters/baader-2-inch-click-lock-cl-extension-47mm.html I have just purchased one of these for my 300p. The overall length is identical to the standard 2" skywatcher extension. I have fitted this along with a 1.25 to 2" click lock adapter. It works very well.
  11. Just been doing a little lunar viewing. Obviously still very bright but quite enjoyable watching the detail slowly appear. Can anyone recommend a decent red dot finder for a frac?
  12. Hi Doug. Thanks for this info. I am having this exact same problem with my 102S. I have tightened the stock grub screw once which solved the issue but it instantly worked loose and had started slipping again. I was trying to view through the scope at 4am this morning and the fine focus side is unusable. I had to use the left side course nob for everything. I'm going to order theses grub screws now. How tight did you do them up? Thanks for your thread regarding this problem 👍
  13. Thanks SSC. I think as soon as the LEDs are installed I will put in a request to have them shielded. The more LP I we can block the better!
  14. That looks a great improvement, Our Council is currenlty replacing all Sodium with LED. I am quite looking forward to this change and hoping it has a decent improvement in LP. If every light replaced reduces the LP like your I will be very pleased.
  15. The 12.5mm is the only one in the range I dont have. I have read that is is a very good EP though Stu. With your EP knowledge I will be interested to hear your thoughts on it I dont have a huge amount of experiance with other EP brands but I do know that the 17.5mm is a very fine EP will excellent eye relief. I dont think you will be dissapointed with a 17.5 Cheers Baz
  16. Smart looking book, With the added bonus of sentimental value too! I will take an item with some "History" over new any day 🙂
  17. I picked my AR102S up recently of a member on here. I've not had many opportunities to use it with our poor recent weather. It is a great scope for grab and go set up on my AZ4 mount. Being short focal length it give some great low power wide field views. I have always been a dob user, and still am, but I have never seen the amount of colour in stars like through the AR102S.
  18. Hopefully some other members can back up my thoughts on the 17.5mm - It is a great ep. Apologies for assuming you was using a 200p - I misread JOC'S signature as yours. Regards Barry
  19. The 17.5mm Is highly regarded by most, and is a stand out performer in the range. The image is superb. I owned the 25mm StarGuider and found it a good ep for spotting and clusters. The contrast was quite bright though and stars seemed to have an elongated shape to them across the field. You wont get any of this with the 17.5mm morph. The background is dark, stars are sharp to the field stop and the eye relief is very generous. obviously you wil also find the wider 76 degree FOV a bonus also. I do have the Baader 2.25 Barlow but havent actually used it much yet. If you was to barlow the 17.5mm in a 200p you would yield around x154 magnification combined with the amazing eye relief. This would give a great medium power combination. I might try my barlow and 17.5mm combo myself tonight if the sky remains clear. The Baader 2.25 barlow is quite cheap to be honest and worth adding to your Arsenal for the outlay. Regards Baz
  20. Out of interest, has anyone got any experience with the winged eyecup supplied with the morph? I understand they are for bino viewing. I did hold one to my observing eye and it felt quite comfortable. Are they any good for normal observation?
  21. This little beauty paired up with my 1 1/4 reducer should assure me that everything is aligned perfectly 😃
  22. Very encouraging to read that the 6.5mm sits in good company. Optically I also enjoy the views it gives and I feel the Morpheus range in general give great to exceptional views for a reasonable outlay.
  23. Hi Don I wasn't being critical of the 14mm Morpheus, I very much enjoy viewing through it and I use it often. I was just pointing out that I do notice the stars elongate as they get close to the field stop. As you pointed out it's not really an issue as we view in the centre of the EP. The only exception to this is as @Louis D Has mentioned, I enjoy watching the planets drift to the field stop. For the planets I wouldnt be using the 14mm anyway. What I was really interested to know is why I find the 6.5mm a bit fussy for eye placement. I don't have this issue with the other Morpheus EP's, that includes the 4.5 oddly. After reading some of the advise above I might put the extension ring back on and see how I get on. Cheers
