  1. I process all my images in PS and LR , my images are also Ha , take a look if you get a minute .. it will apply .. anyway .. nice shot 👍
  2. Thanks Rod , very interesting .. I have loosing clear sky time as well , that's why I gave up and pointed at something else , but I don't like to be beaten .. 😉
  3. Hi Goran , cracking image , I think I will aim my scope at that area .. I spent many years as a freelance photographer, before that a very keen amature who shot mainly B&W and printed them for display . Can I suggest that you have another go and reprocess the image , but keep in mind that you need to have blacks and whites , and all shades inbetween , as my tutor told me , your image looks "muddy " more just shades of grey .. just remember not to clip the blacks or the whites .. not sure what software your using.. .. hope you don't mind the comment , Just trying to help .. 😊 Brian
  4. Hi Rod , thanks for your "Flipping " comments 😂. 1. Polar alignment is normally pretty good , the mount is fitted with a polemaster , and I still take my time making sure it's right 2 . The Goto model being accurate , can you expand on this one please .. 😊 3 . I only have one scope on the mount , and the guiding is though the camera .. QSI583 WSG .. so I don't think that's the problem
  5. Hi Dave , yes the full moon over the weekend was a bit frustrating, but by the time I started this the moon had moved away from this subject which always helps as well as the Very Narrow Ha filter .. have you noticed it's normally nice and clear when the moons full , and when it's a new moon it's as cloudy as hell 😤
  6. After not being able to continue with my weekend project of IC1396 , for reasons already given , I slewed the scope to NGC1499 and just shot with Ha 12x600 sec of Ha using my Chroma 3nm 130EDT scope and a QSI583 camera.. processed in APP , PS & LR
  7. Thank s Dave .. I was hoping to use a TS65Q to get a wider FOV and see more of the nebula , however ! ... having put the small scope on the mount , it didn't take long to realise that I couldn't balance it with the large ioptron weight , and I didn't have anything smaller too hand .. so I put the 130 back on for this shot ..
  8. Supposedly it was going to be clear here the weekend 👍. Friday night was pretty good and my rig all worked fine , guiding no problem ..😎however last night ( Saturday) although it was supposed to be clear there seemed to be some high cloud around and in-laws told me today that when coming back on the island In the early hours - 1-2 am , there was a lot of mist across the area. Consequently it was a hellish night and had to keep pampering the guiding .. i even rechecked , mount level and Polar alignment at 1 am ☹️.. I was imaging IC1396 and had gathered some good data on Friday and was hoping for another full night , but alas , after the meridian flip ! The target had gone , yes I could not locate it for love nor money , I spent another hour trying to centre on it with no luck 😤.. so after checking the alignment, I pointed my scope at something else and gathered a few hours on NGC1499 .. the California Nebula .. anyone else have issues with meridian flip in SGP .. I can't set the bloody thing up 🤔😂 Anyway here is my IC1396 .. 30 x 600 sec Ha 8 x 600 sec OIII 6.3 hours total Integration Time , processed in APP, PS and LR reprocessed .. this morning
  9. I cant recommend them enough .. I like the build quaility, design and performance I have the CEM60 EC , and next week pick up a secondhand 25 to use with a TS65Q scope .. i would love the 120 EC2 but can't justify the cost .. but who knows , I may win the lottery 😉 Nice Image Adrian .. job well done ✅
  10. No all clear ✅, just thought I would ask .. 👍
  11. Very nice pic 👍...... I have a question .. why did you half the exposure time for the Ha filter .. but triple the number of exposures .. over the SII and OIII .. ? Brian
  12. That's nice ! 😉 ..very nice , and a modest number of subs .. just under 3 hours ? ..
  13. Love the colours Dave , I will have to have a go , I would imagine getting the white gas/dust to be problematic..
  14. Looking at work by others much more experienced than myself , the longer the better I think generally , I've seen exposures with my cameras of 1800 seconds . Unfortunately 30 minute exposures where I live would be regularly ruined with aircraft and satellites.. , 10 minutes exposures is a compromise .. .. though I do need to concentrate on one target and gather more subs for more detail ..
  15. Shot this target back in May this year , and just reprocessed what little data I have .. it was my new scope , new mount and new camera at the time .. so I didn't leave it pointing at one target for too long , there is so much up there to discover and photograph , I was like a kid in a sweetshop .. still am 😂 Anyway taken with my QSI583 on an Altair 130EDT 12 x 600 sec Ha 6 x 600 sec OIII .. processed in APP , PS & LR ..

    From the album: Deep sky

  17. Thanks Peter , I'm still getting to grips with processing .. I've seen some stunning images of this region with much more detail , but all with hours more subs .. so bring on the clear skies .. 👍
