  1. I’ve sold my CEM60EC Mount and currently preparing my Mesu 200 and new RC10 scope .. in the mean time since I brought a second hand ZEQ 25 iOptron mount to use with my TS65Quad I haven’t used it or the Quad ..☹️, so I thought this would be a good chance .. however last week on the one clear night the moon was very bright and there was 90% humidity , with some mist around , so seeing wasn’t that good .. but I decided to have a go at Orion .. first time in over a year .. by the time I had figured out how to connect the mount and point it via CDC time was pressing on and Orion was already in the south .. I managed a couple of hours of Ha , 12 x 600 sec
  2. Took delivery of this baby yesterday .. downloaded the quick start guide yesterday and installed the software today , changed some of the parameters to the recommended, and surprisingly everything connects and controls via the laptop .. made up a mount for my pole master aswell . Should be able to borrow a large Tri-Pier towards the end of the week , while my static pier is under construction..
  3. it’s going on Ikharus 10”RC ..which was also based on GS optics
  4. Hi Vlaiv , its going into the imaging train of a RC 250 . I want to use the 0.67 reduction ..
  5. Hi , would anyone have a spacing diagram for this telecompressor ..
  6. Depends on your distances... I know you can get boosters for USB cables , I tried one option with Long Ethernet cables ,it worked for some of the equipment but others bits did not want to connect and it obviously introduces more connections into the signal path .. so more chance of damp and corrosion in the connectors ... I decided to keep cables short and solve the problem as above .. remotely connecting to the computer in the box .. and it operates just like a normal laptop.. SGpro ,iOptron commander , PHD2 , Cart du ceil , are all loaded onto it .. as per normal .. anyways .....I’m sure everyone else has a different method and ideas .. .. 😉👍
  7. I decided to not leave my laptop outside , so I brought a Tiny Levono Computer and put in into a case that can me left outside unaffected by frost and damp It’s in that orange case . The case is foam lined and I cut ventilation holes in either side , and arranged the foam to hold the computer but allow air to flow through for cooling .. works a treat . eBay , I paid £89 for mine .. it was a Levono Thinkcentre M93p Intel i5 120 GB SSD , 4 GB RAM ....
  8. Reprocessed data from back in Early December just 2.3 hours of subs .LRB & Ha , syn Green .. hoping to grab some more subs soon ..
  9. Thanks Barry , much appreciate the comment ..and I’m glad you like it ..
  10. Hi Alan , I can’t comment on if it will fit or not , but I can always make parts fit if needed .. as I’ve got the workshop ..👍 just Pm me if you need anything .. Brian
  11. Hi Alan , this will be smack bang in the middle of my garden , which isn’t very big and any structure will be imposing , whereas a bagged pier and mount will be a lot less .. from the other posts I’ve got some good ideas to keep the damp at bay.. so I’m confident now the mount will be ok .. though if I do find I have an issue , it will be removed faster than you can imagine 💥
  12. Hi John , what’s a 365 & ENS cover ? .... I am hoping to leave the mount outside , and after reading the comments received so far that all seems doable with out detrimental effect to the equipment .. I will leave the scopes set up if there are periods of clear skies forecast , otherwise I will remove and store back in my workshop ..
  13. I’ll live with a bag .. and so will the wife ! ✊️
  14. Believe me I will go “belt and braces” desiccant units , heater blankets, and covers .. ✊️
  15. Thanks Guys , all very interesting with some good ideas .. .I think I will definitely run a permanent power supply to the pier as well , sounds like it could be useful even when the scopes are not in use ! 😉
  16. Ok that sounds interesting as well .. 👍 where do these desiccant packs come from may I ask ? cheers Brian
  17. Thanks Steve .. Is the mount damp when you remove the cover ?
  18. I’m going to install a pier in my garden , as my garden is too small to set up an obsy .. So I’m just wondering what others do or suggest in regards of covering the mount when not in use .. I will be installing a MESU200 on the pier , but will I need to remove it when not in use , or can I wrap it up .. my concerns are the damp Obviously.. ..... I will be removing the scopes if not being used for a few days any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.. Brian
