  1. I've just been doing some cross referencing between catalogues..... They're not very accurate in some places, so not sure what should be believed.
  2. How did you get the diameters on the LDN catalogue as I can't see it in Vizier ?
  3. @coatesg - Mmmm... I've come up with some interesting quirks!!! But I hope I can work around them somehow
  4. Wow! This is a great post!! Thank you! I'm going to give it a go and see how it works. I can get the PI annotating to work, it's the catalogues that have me scratching my head...... I'll report back
  5. Looking good - This sensor is considered old in the tooth and has it's doubters if you read the internet, but I love it and think that there is plenty of mileage left in it yet ....... I'm sure you'll love this camera!!!
  6. I'd be interested to know if the 'gunk' on the inner side of the blue green glass also finds its way onto the other little red filter on the other side of the diagonal? To that end I'm sending ours off to Germany for a service and check.
  7. It certainly is Ray - The tripod was just taking up too much room and I kept kicking it!! All unwrapped and awaiting fixing...... Need a cooler morning to do that work! Husband did it - Didn't take too long as it goes!!
  8. I'm afraid it's not a bird bath!! I already have one of those.... @RayD is spot on...... an Altair Astro pier Second hand of course!!!
  9. This rather heavy 45kg parcel was delivered to me today.......
  10. Nice one James - This is coming on nicely
  11. What a timely post for me..... I've just determined that the blocking filter lens is my issue. I've emailed Lunt and I'll see what they say
  12. AAG cloudwatcher and Solo from Lunatico Astronomia The pole is on the wall already and just need to sit down and get it up...... currently getting the dual rig into the obs, so my time is taken!!!
  13. This is coming on really nicely Kev Love watching the progress ??
  14. Such a massive difference ......... Clearly a very beneficial addition to your imaging software
  15. Cheers Kev..... as it stands right now, my observatory roof was completed a week ago and I've been in the UK since then..... I've not even seen it yet ??
  16. A very nice build indeed.... I do enjoy looking at these despite, sadly, having zero skills of my own. It's really taking shape now ????
  17. Thanks Ajay...... If anyone is interested to see the final version it is on my website here
  18. Thanks guys!!! I appreciate you looking and taking the time to comment, especially as I was so unsure on the colour combination
  19. Thanks Gav for your comments........ Yes, the mosaic will be finished next season!!!
  20. It is the colour palette that I am uncomfortable with!! The assignment was the usual for HST images...... SHO - SII red, Ha Green and OIII Blue Thanks guys for the positive comments especially as this is a colour palette that I would never normally use.
  21. Thanks to you all for your comments - I think this has spurred me on to continue with this project in the next season as was originally planned Lets see how big a mosaic can be done!!
  22. Thanks!! Sadly I've not found that to be the case with astro photos Thanks @tomato and @ultranova
  23. @steppenwolf - Cheers Steve - I think it's fixed now...... I really should have realised that I'd done nothing to the flame and that it was lacking
  24. Thanks guys for your comments... The flame has been titivated a little. I didn't realise how soft it was compared to the rest of the image. I had clearly neglected it!!!
  25. That's pretty much what I did before..... didn't like it ?
