Actually it's a massive improvement over the std dob.it's stable. I can track with it.the controls take all of 5mins to get used to.to honest I'd never go back to nudging for want of a better word.It sits on top of a water butt base when in use.which brings the finderscope up perfectly with my eye.it really is a joy to use.have got a dob yourself? .what part of the country you from.

8" or 10" Dobsonian?
fiestazetecmk2 replied to Thomas Blose's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
200p for me.size matters? . If you can carry it.get it in your car.find somewhere safe to keep it.then fine. Because they all come into play . Even more so if you buy a dobsonion that's to big and heavy . And you finish up looking at a fabulous dobsonian that lives in the corner of the room . It really is something you need to think long and hard about. Wouldn't change my 200p for anything because I can manage it. And it really is a fabulous dob . Imho. -

Bst are a good match for the 200p. I have them and think they are very good value for money. There are better eyepieces out there. Good luck with whatever you choose. -

Skywatchers 9x50 Finderscope
fiestazetecmk2 replied to oymd's topic in Discussions - Scopes / Whole setups
Well said.that's why I bought my 200p skyliner because its manual.no goto computer driven.just old fashioned astronamy. The way it should be.I can find my way around the sky without a goto or handset. Got no plans to ever change to goto dobsonion. The 200p is simple cheap.and gets great reviews. -
