  1. Shame it has run this way so far John, but let's face it it; One scope damaged in transit, couriers are not anyone's friends when it comes to anything delicate. One scope with a manufacturing fault and missed on QC, its an anomaly, not a proven trend as its 1 in XXXX with a problem to date. I await fresh stock and your update, but based on months of delay on imports to SW fear we may a bit a a wait in store. But a big thank you to John for the dedicated testing and also all at FLO for being prepared to publicly do this test, good on you all.
  2. Overall John, it looks for build quality that SW have done a good job. I am hanging on for the first impressions of how it works visually. As to style, oh yeah, the old man used to say that too ?
  3. No comment on your fashion choice or age John, but..... My dear old Dad used to have a pair of pyjamas of the same print.
  4. Now I know what one is, thanks, you live and learn. I should have bought one of these years ago!
  5. Looking good, amazing progress in the heat. Sorry to ask late after your comment, but what is a 'Newcastle' Shovel?
  6. The FLO label oozes optimism, with the word MAY. It should say is 99.9% certain to contain cloud! That scope does look rather nice indeed, looks nice on that Giro too.
  7. Nice set Derek, I intend to run from the 10mm down, so 2 to go for me.
  8. Post person attended today and I brings my XW collection to short fl ones. Now have the 5XW and 3.5XW. Just need to add the 10XW and 7XW as time passes and I will be in EP Nirvana. Used from fleabay, very nice condition indeed. Sorry FLO bought used as I was about to pull the trigger on a new one from you.
  9. Nice project and progress. I look forward to following this. Would love an observatory one day, but house building works stop this for now. Good luck with your build. Glad to see it was not only me toiling away under the sun over the weekend.
  10. and there was me thinking it was a comfy stool for observing from......... then I remembered your an imaging guru. Nice parcel, will we see an unwrapped version soon Sara?
  11. You look away from a thread for a few days and the world of SGL goes mad. That poor postal service has been rather busy in June so far. Has it been cloudy or something?
  12. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ There speaks the Concrete Block Pier Master ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  13. Oddly, when I looked at this my initial thought was....'why has Mike got a box of ice cubes?' Took a minute to see the pouches. I must need a start of the weekend cold one!
  14. Resolve or will power with a used scope, what’s that? I don’t think it exists does it?
  15. I am surprised based on the number of Tak owners here on SGL that no one else has had the same issue Steve. As you say get it mounted (treads lightly hoping it does not set things going again) and see how it goes. Good luck with it and keep us all informed.
  16. Dear SGLers, please stop this right now! How one of our members chooses to mount his fine scope, that is his or her choice. If the type of mounting, type, colour or number offends, oh well.......we are all different are we not. If someone has an opinion that they wish to very much MOUNT the very expensive scope they have bought and they express the opinion that the standard equipment is not up to the job, so be it, its a personal choice. This escalating post situation, has gone beyond me and any agreement I may have had from an engineers background. Put a stop to this right NOW, all of you - Play nice, be nice.
  17. Look nice Paul, enjoy the sunshine Its raining here in southern Essex. Nice be avatar
  18. All I need for now too Michael...... Sorry its not all eyepieces! ?
  19. As is thinking your eyepiece collection is complete..........
  20. I was so waiting for a hacksaw picture Steve...... Pheww, that is such a modular design, they are clever our friends at Takahashi.
  21. That looks interesting Jeremy, please let us know what its like.
  22. Well I had to show the family and the unaltered home, which is work in progress. All now Made in Japan, hence my Avatar change.
