      Hi,

      All moved.

I did wonder if the DIY section would have been better? But its currently in the Scopes/Whole setup section.

      Cheers

      Ant

  9. Iain have you ever done a reading at Derwent
  10. sorry for delay in replying. I have no idea what band (probably Queen ) Our technical wizards dealt with that. Another tool I use for group communication on my iphone that goes to all society members is an app called group text. I send out alerts ranging from Dark site observing at short notice to requests for help. again it may do what you want as messaging is virtually instantaneous https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/group-text!/id377826584?mt=8
  11. We have invested in some for our large events (Sunderland Astro) and they worked very well indeed to help maintain a flow of people between scopes and lectures.
  12. No looking at the back it is not the Edge. But still a VERY capable scope. I have a none edge C11 and it does not have a mirror lock either. A crayford finishes fine focus without mirror shift (which is negligible in mine anyway).
  13. Welcome to SGL If you have any other queries i suggest you start a new thread. that way you may get a better response.
  14. It is good for the price. Make sure the tripod is stable-hang something under it. It will not have the carrying capacity of the Astrotrac but as you say you are not going over 200mm it will be fine. I suggest you get the full package as the wedge is good and saves messing with anything else.
  15. download the relevant lens size. Print on card and you have one. you could of course laminate it and you have a semi permanent dew resistant solution http://www.lenshoods.net/canon.php
  16. it is different. when you get it you will find there is a ring type bearing that enables it to rotate when tightened.
  17. I have a vixen branded celeston 50mm. never seen one before or since i got it. Nice bit of glass.
  18. Similar to mine C11 ETC and again cannot stress that all the bolts are tight. I had to go round a couple of times to re-tighten them. mine is black but totally hidden under the (black) heavy duty Velcro that everything attaches to.
  19. visit the darkest sky in england http://www.visitkielder.com/site/visiting-kielder-water-and-forest-park/kielder-observatory contact gary to see if you can make use of any of the observatory equipment
