  1. That's really nice ... Single frame or stacked ?
  2. Guess who deleted the original captures ! Next time I dabble I'll post a series of processes images at different levels of process, it's hard to know when to stop 😁 Looked at Dave's image and I see what you mean, but you might be right about the larger audience as there are many others heavily sharpened around. Thanks for the input though and points taken as intended πŸ‘πŸ»
  3. Never tried Imppg, I'll have a play later. In all honesty, it's hard to know when to stop sharpening, I find it hard to know if I'm pulling out granulation or sharpening the noise πŸ˜‚ I'm quite happy though, its only a SW72ed and reduced to 344mm. No guns fired here πŸ˜‚
  4. I love APT but the hocus focus plug in pulled me toward NINA, so far no issues with flip but that might change now the clocks have gone forward 😁
  5. Hi all, occasional White light solar dabbler here πŸ™‚ Comedy of errors, couldn't locate the Sun as no proper finder - used ZWO 1600mm with Ha and green filters but plugged into USB 2 port - taken from indoors as nursing sick child while imaging. 20 % of approx 1100 frames, AS3, registax wavelets, photoshop false colour. The Ha filter seemed to give the most detail, possibly just seeing changes I guess though. Thanks for looking.
  6. Hopefully, let us know how you get on.
  7. Are you sure that it's just moving very slowly ? Check the slew speed settings on controller.
  8. Yep, like that πŸ‘πŸ»
  9. Had a quick process with As3, Registax and coloured in CS6. Capture of 60 seconds - best 25% stacked. Approx 1115 am 29th April. Thanks for looking.
  10. Hi all, quite literally Essex cloud dodging πŸ˜‰ If I get anything worth posting from it, I'll post later. PXL_20230429_105224434.LS.mp4
  11. Can't remember the precise details but @Blazar and myself were scoping out (pun intended) a darkish site together ... we were both still new and were eager to try guiding. Steve forgot his camera and cables, I forgot my guidescope ! We did cobble together a working set up with part of his rig and part of mine though πŸ™‚
  12. You might be ok without darks on the 533, have a quick google ... try dithering (on the capture not over the decision πŸ™‚ ) On the other hand cooling should help with noise. Have you considered a used camera ? Or, slightly smaller pixels but have you considered this ...
  13. And they're here ... All the way from China πŸ˜‚ Fiddly to fit but happy !
  14. Nice one πŸ‘πŸ» I've used wheel balance stick on weights because I like to look at my mount as it doesn't get out much due to the weather πŸ˜‚ also hopefully has the advantage of staying balanced if I rotate the OTA.
  15. I know, sharpcap suggests some very short exposure times that according to the maths are correct ... Yet hard to believe !
  16. Works well on my Android device ....still all red and cloudy but works 🀣
  17. Certainly looks a very interesting package, but I'm not too sure about wearing the hard hat when using it 🀣
  18. It's my birthday soon and someone checked my browser historyπŸ˜‚ I have a pair of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08L6JYZXY/ref=pe_27063361_487055811_TE_3p_dp_1 On the way !
  19. Welcome to SGL, there are plenty of you tube videos on equatorial mounts but for visual just aim the axis of the mount roughly at Polaris.
  20. Contact the seller ! That's really not on πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«there used to be a site called astroboot that sold all sorts but they won't deliver to the UK since Brexit Really hope you get somewhere finding one.
  21. Hopefully, but remember it's only a forecast, not a promise 🀣
  22. They're nice little scopes, come up on ABS quite often https://www.astrobuysell.com/uk/propview.php?view=196163 But you'll still end up needing a mount, that's going to add weight ! AZ-Gtis are nice and compact ? Whats your budget ?
