  1. Thats looking very promising, nice job.
  2. Oh, sorry to hear that, hope you're ok and managing whatever it is ๐Ÿคž
  3. Another nice capture ... how on earth do you keep manging to get up so early ๐Ÿ™‚
  4. I looked at shipping and as it's all quite heavy it was rather a lot ๐Ÿ™‚ Also, couldn't find an M16 to M12 adaptor that I was sure had the right thread, It's M16-2 (pitch)
  5. Nice captures, I still find it weird looking when the rings start closing ๐Ÿ™‚ What time are you imaging Neil, 3.30 ish ?
  6. So, thought I'd spend my Birthday money on a counterweight and shaft to steady things up when using the C9.25 ... Not available in the UK ๐Ÿ˜ž At least not where I could find anyway. So not to be deterred I bought a https://www.firstlightoptics.com/ioptron-mount-accessories/ioptron-45kg-counterweight-for-gem28-ieq30-mt-az-pro-zeq25-cem25-cem26-cem40.html M16 - threaded rod / M16 couplers from Ebay. Had to drill the hole out to fit (much fun and 3 25mm drill bits later). I only drilled through enough to leave room to thread one of the couplers after the weight as a toe protector (if anyone finds an M16 - thumbscrew let me know please.) Just in case anyone else needs one. Whats the bets that someone will post a link to the proper item being available now ๐Ÿ˜‚
  7. Yep, yet another M101. Almost embarrassed to post this, 39 minutes of RGB @ 30 sec subs - no calibration frames. I really just spent an hour checking everything still worked ๐Ÿ™‚ since going across to NINA and to be on hand while a friend 'first lighted' his AM5. massive gradients, heavy light pollution, no astro darkness etc. Thanks for looking.
  8. Could be the the polar scope is out of focus ....was it new ?
  9. Some of the Cloudy nights lot have used IR pass on the Moon, needs longer exposures but good results.
  10. Know your figures before you start .. guide cam focal length / pixel size etc. Start with the new profile wizard and enter your equipment. Maybe try the new dev build https://openphdguiding.org/phd2-2.6.11dev6-installer.exe as it has a calibration assistant (takes you to the best part of the sky for calibration. Connect everything up before it's dark to make sure it's all talking ๐Ÿ™‚ Best of luck ! What equipment are you using, have you downloaded drivers / ascom etc. ?
  11. Blimey, doesn't time fly ! just found the Moon pic I took through an imaging Ha filter ... 3 years ago ๐Ÿ™‚
  12. They're excellent, is that a full aperture filter or offset ?
  13. I've used my imaging set up to capture the Moon during the day using the Ha filter, quite surreal to see it looking like midnight during the day. Might be worth a bash if anyone has an Ha filter ?
  14. Welcome back and best of luck with the health issues. You 'll need to explain a bit more about the problems you're having, maybe post a picture of how the mount is connected, also any error messages you are getting. In theory, even if out of date, all should still work ?
  15. Yep, been playing with it .. Looks good. Http://astrosurface.com
  16. I like it ! Ask her to have a try and we'll critique her effort ๐Ÿ˜‚
  17. More likely Russel will develop 'satXterminater' but only for Pixinsight ๐Ÿ˜‚
  18. I know ! it's disgusting that we are not only light polluting the planet, we're doing it to space now too !
  19. I'd try using a distant object in the day time, dont use PHD for rough focus as it will 'auto everything' to try to pull out a star ! Try sharpcap to see what going on. Also, roughly match the distance from scope to sensor with the main camera using a measure of some sort before you begin.
  20. Very nice ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  21. That's really nice ... Single frame or stacked ?
  22. Guess who deleted the original captures ! Next time I dabble I'll post a series of processes images at different levels of process, it's hard to know when to stop ๐Ÿ˜ Looked at Dave's image and I see what you mean, but you might be right about the larger audience as there are many others heavily sharpened around. Thanks for the input though and points taken as intended ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
