  1. They are great I got one to go with my BST'S and views were really nice.
  2. I have a power bank I use a usb dew heater band placed just in front of the glass in the OTA . I mount the power bank over the vixen clamp and wind the cable around the OTA, I have no dangling cables then I can use this set up out in the wild with my battery box powering my mount.
  3. I have had two the first went in the bin as it was un-collimatable the second is not as bad but not spot on when I took the screws out one screw is shorter than the other two I have got tracing a circle about the size of a 2p and cannot get it any better. Best wishes Paul
  4. Do you see any difference in the views with and without shroud?
  5. Brilliant report were you using the Taurus for the session if so have you got a shroud for it or do you leave it open.
  6. Well I'm waiting for a couple of things one a knee brace but read the post person's are on or are going on strike so God knows when I get it.
  7. You did have an eyepiece in the barlow didn't you, the screw should not have been in the FOV if its holding the eyepiece in.
  8. Brilliant I need a quick grab and go set up the mornings I've been up and seen pristine skies and only able to use binoculars as trying to set up will take 40 minutes to an hour without my son helping.
  9. Use a Barlow with the laser then align the rings centrally bobs your uncle.
  10. Some laser collimators need to be collimated themselves I have always used a Cheshire/sight tube. to make sure it is straight I use a self centering 2"-1.25" adapter no thumbscrews to pull it to one side. Much easier to change eyepieces as well especially in winter when your fingers are cold and fiddling with the thumbscrews. https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/ovl-twist-lock-adaptor-2-125.html
  11. Brilliant Nick you know why I didn't get out, I am going to check them doubles to see if I have missed any. I started to write and keep my lists in a ring binder, I have a few written out that I have not done yet as the weather turned inclement but they are there ready.
  12. Sorry Dave I only scanned through with this sty finding hard even blinking is stinging. I have never tried splitting Vega I must try that both Lyra and Hercules are high in the south for me I may be able to catch them about 1am if I can get out this week. I bet that 128 would blow my Tal and Meade out the water, hoping for a session as forecast is for an artic blast that should make the skies good. Paul
  13. I was all eager to get out but I have a big stye which is affecting my vision plus come 12am clouded over. Cracking picture Dave really great capture.
  14. It is usually the secondary that dews up adding a diy dew shield not only helps this but cuts out stray light entering the tube. One about 6-8" long should be sufficient.
  15. Yes I have tickets to a YouTube channel free through eventbrite for Mondays show.
  16. Got these great when looking and changing eyepieces. Had to paint the Leds red but great now.
  17. Great selection of doubles there and other objects especially NGC7662 one of my all time favourites.

  20. A warm welcome to SGL
  21. Brilliant obviously I dont need a shed that big, but seeing your build puts my mind at rest when I do get a dob I have no worries over moisture getting to it. Thanks Mike really appreciate it.
  22. I use this and find its really good although I have had trouble taking astro pictures at night solar is fine. I take the end caps off to put this on.
