  1. Double and multiple stars the different colours sizes and using different eyepieces to split them. There are 100s of thousands of them.
  2. Yes I do quite a few objects didn't like a lot of mag especially the clusters.
  3. Started at 9pm with a look at the planets. Jupiter was brilliant 4 moons 1 very close two bands clearly seen. Saturn a great sight with Titan in view. M52 A grand cluster multiple stars. NGC 1027 Sparse with one bright star in the middle ( note to self find out what the star is) NGC 189 small cluster 20-30 stars not very well resolved. NGC 225 10-15 stars here. NGC 659 40-50 stars with 44 Cass in the FOV NGC 663 Nice cluster plenty of stars. NGC 654 Really nice compact cluster. NGC 7789 (Caroline's Rose) A great cluster with a bit of mag looks stunning NGC 884 & 869 not strictly in Cassiopeia but its not far away. NGC 457 one of my favourite's. Doubles now Iota Cass (SAO 0122 98) A brilliant triple needs a bit of mag to see the tiny companion. Σ48 00h 42.6m +71° 22` Identical white twins Σ65 (SAO 0114 40) Pair of twins again Σ170 (SAO 90359 47) Peach with a green/blue companion. Sigma Cass (SAO 0359 47) Yellow primary with a white companion Eta Cass (SAO 0217 32) Yellow tiny dot as a companion. ΟΣΣ 26 (02h19.7m +60° 02) Wide pair nearly identical Blueish and pale orange. h2028 (01h 16.6m + 74° 02`) nearly identical wide pair Yellow and white. Looked at Jupiter again and noticed a moon missing it was only when I read Doug`s (cloudsweeper) report I understood what had happened. Saturn and the seeing had steadied now and the scope was well cooled A bit more mag now I swear with averted vision I could see the Cassini division. Waiting for Mars to get higher so looked at some favourites the double double in Lyra easily split with the 12mm BST M57 ring nebula looked very good in the 15mm not so much in the 12mm and worse with both the UHC and oiii filters. M13 magnificent the same with M92 smaller but equally very good. Went in get a warm drink came out at 12.30am straight to Mars and what a show used the new to me 4mm x270 not dead sharp but sure I saw a ice cap. Packed away with the help of my son was in at 1am. Paul
  4. I would of loved to attend again so enjoyed my time there. Unfortunately my health prevents me from going to any meetings.
  5. I have read that maybe its the same eyepiece under a different name I do hope it performs good in my scopes.
  6. Hi where did you get the Telrad heater please.
  7. I have 15, 2 zoom and 2 Barlow's after just getting a 4mm TSO UMA 82°. That's it now I dont need anymore the ones I have perform brilliantly.
  8. Got a nice TS optics 4mm for £50 should be good splitting the doubles with this.
  9. Can I ask is the focuser made from a plastic material if so it sounds the same as the one which was on my Meade 127mm EMC achromatic. It was terrible I got a skywatcher dual focuser and got a company to make a adapter to go on the Scope.
  10. Yes mine only works on low and medium if you go higher just knocks off.
  11. I have been looking for a decent 4mm eyepiece and can get a TS UMA 4mm 82° for £50 are these any good and is it a fair price please.
  12. Yes it was the same one different supplier the 52cm is the cable length rather confusing.

    A warm welcome to SGL
  14. Brilliant I need one for a TMB I cannot find a replacement I've had to glue it but it's not that good.
  15. They are great I got one to go with my BST'S and views were really nice.
  16. I have a power bank I use a usb dew heater band placed just in front of the glass in the OTA . I mount the power bank over the vixen clamp and wind the cable around the OTA, I have no dangling cables then I can use this set up out in the wild with my battery box powering my mount.
  17. I have had two the first went in the bin as it was un-collimatable the second is not as bad but not spot on when I took the screws out one screw is shorter than the other two I have got tracing a circle about the size of a 2p and cannot get it any better. Best wishes Paul
  18. Do you see any difference in the views with and without shroud?
  19. Brilliant report were you using the Taurus for the session if so have you got a shroud for it or do you leave it open.
  20. Well I'm waiting for a couple of things one a knee brace but read the post person's are on or are going on strike so God knows when I get it.
  21. You did have an eyepiece in the barlow didn't you, the screw should not have been in the FOV if its holding the eyepiece in.
