The Cone in mono - Part of NGC2264

I've always wanted to image this part of NGC2264 close up and the 8" RC has allowed me to do this. What a great field of view if you like stuff close up!! What a great scope / camera combo in my opinion.

I welcome any thoughts you have on the image, good bad or indifferent!

T: AT8RC CF

C: QSI690-wsg with 3nm Ha filter.

25x1800s in Ha - 12.5 hours in total.

Now, I know that you are a big fan of the mono image - great article in AN recently, but your colour version of this image is a an absolute beauty, it has an almost religious quality to it!

Very good to hear that you are now a happy snapper at the long focal length.

Great shot! Maybe hold back a bit on the noise reduction? A little grain in the background gives a more natural feel. But that is just personal taste I guess... Good work.

I'm going to bet there isn't any noise reduction applied in processing, but I'm ready to be wrong, sublime detail!
