Jupiter - 26-02-15

The 26th Feb was a busy night with everyone following activities on and around Jupiter. I have finally got round to processing some of my captures. Here's the first one:

post-29321-0-06958200-1425251608_thumb.p

Celestron EdgeHD 800 with 2x Powermate and ASI120-MC-S.

This is definitely my best image of Jupiter to date, but I still feel as though I'm far from the full capabilities of my equipment. I'm on the planetary learning curve! The processing seems to be quite hit and miss. I've used PiPP, AS!2, Registax6 and Photoshop CS5. All comments and suggestions gratefully received.

Thank you all for your comments.

Steve - I was finding the cheap 2x Barlow I have was not giving me the results I was after, so I decided to go for what appears to be the best on offer and that's the Powermate. It is loads better than my old Barlow. How much better it is than a better quality Barlow I don't know, but I would happily recommend it to all! As for the Edge, some days I love it and some days I hate it!

Dr Hamzonian - I don't have the exact details to hand, but I think it is a stack of about 1000 of 6000 frames.

Pete - Thank you, slowly getting there, but still quite some way to go!
