Heads up Moon and Saturn photo opertunity

Around 8.30 tonight Moon and Saturn 0.5 deg apart, will have to make a trip up local hill to see it if it's clear.

I am already viewing Saturn & the Moon in the same FOV at 60x. It already looks good so when it gets dark this will be well worth viewing and/or imaging. Just hope the skies stay clear long enough though my SW horizon is not good.

It is also a good time to view Collins, Aldrin and Armstrong.

The moon and Saturn are too low for me now, but that was a top session. It was so warm I was only wearing a t-shirt, with clear skies and sharp views. Being able to view shadows on the terminator while seeing Saturn above was a grand sight. I even did a bit of garden (trimming the top of a hedge to prolong the view). My wife came home and saw the ladder and shears out and wondered what was going on. 'I am looking at the moon and Saturn', she shakes her head in disbelief and walks away.... but then reappears with a coffee to have a look, and then kind of understood.

LOL, I wondered what that blob was - I was out with the DSLR + 300mm zoom taking a few snaps of the moon and I thought it was a poorly-focused star   Turns out it's Saturn.

Thanks for the heads up, I would never have thought that was Saturn. Great view here have taken some pics will post later for those who cannot see it.

Managed to catch it before it disappeared behind the houses, tried masking another not over exsposed moon on but it didn't look right.

Seems strange that the moon has disappeared over there when it is still fairly high and lighting up the sky here. (and it's an hour later)

Thanks for the heads up. Saturn was a slightly elongated dot with my 250mm lens but I was glad to get it, shows the scale nicely.

I only used 200mm lens on tripod, seeing how much nicer others have produced with camera on scope makes me wish I'd done the same
