First ever attempt at the moon with webcam

Ok I managed to get out tonight with the Skymax and the webcam.

This is the first image I've processed - I'm still learning what to do with the stacking software so it probably could have come out a lot better.

Mind you, I'm pretty pleased with it. As the cam maginifies quite a lot I picked a feature and shot that. Looked on the moon map afterwards to find out it was Montes Apenninus mountain range.

I've rotated and flipped the image so it appears accurate in orientation.

Next I'll be figuring out how to take pics with the DSLR at prime focus !

i too managed to get out tonight with the webcam for only the second time and got some images of saturn and the moon as well as some tries at the orion nebula.

I didn't have my motor drive fitted tonight and so just managed to get some "flyby" videos of the moon - still cool though. Just need to get around to processing them now!

nice pic mate, my scope is just sat outside cooling so i can go have a quick scan over the moon. but its blumming freezing out there

how many pics was staked in the end and what lentgh of vid my12" dob does not get great images like this and spc900 will have ago with the dslr nice pic
