You can actually see the clouds of gas from the stars stripping the dust away to leave the pillars behind!

It really gives a sense of that movement happening :shock:

Think thats one of the best ive seen anywhere and well worth downloading the full size image. As you say WH it would be very nice if we could actually see things like that through the eyepiece but to be honest lately round my way it would be nice to see a star through the eyepiece! Looks quite clear for the first half of tonight at the moment and guess what....... I have to go out to boxing training until about 9:30 when its forcast to cloud over again!!!!

Anyways its worth bookmarking that link as the pic changes everyday and they do sometimes have some lovely images to keep us going while the clouds keep us inside. Il be sure to post again if i come across any other good ones though.
