Sun 3 Nov in H-alpha

Just caught up on the week's data. AR1120 has made a grand appearance as well as several nice filaments on the solar surface. With the clocks going back, the sun is sinking low far too early it seems into the treeline. Caught these just before it was lost in the branches.

Hi Mark,

The Lunt has undergone a bit of DIY with PTFE tape and a rubber band to secure the blocking filter. No reply from Lunt in almost two weeks after they received the photos of the scope. I'll try with them, again.

Great shots though... have you tried it at very high mag yet?

Sheri, I had a few problems with my Lunt but nothing serious just minor faults which I fixed myself, yours sounds a bit more serious. I would contact the vendor and get them to sort it out. Lunt will take ages to get back to you if at all. Nick Howe’s rightly voiced his concerns about QC which I wrongly dismissed at the time, he was right and I was wrong. I hope things turn out OK for you and I am sure they will but on the plus side your images are superb, so well done and keep up the good work. Steve

Nick, the magnification has not been pushed due to seeing condition limitations. Hope to try something higher when possible. I have a powermate at the ready ;-)

Steve, I appreciate the comments regarding the vendor on this one. Might be an option worth pursuing.

Really nice photos Sheri, I have a Coronado 60mm DS and have been trying to couple my Canon DSLR up to the scope - quite a challenge :-)
