An open cluster and a spiral in the same shot.

Hi folks,

I saw these objects posted a month or so back and thought I might try and have a go too.

I promptly wrote it down on a scrap of paper and true to form, lost it til I found it last night:cussing:

These are NGC 6946 and NGC 6939, a really nice photogenic pairing.

I used my Orion ED 80 again with WO FF attached, modded Canon 450D, darks and bias subtracted.

The picture was a stack of 6 X 7 min subs at ISO 800, guided.

Very nice shot, I had a go at the galaxy a while back IIRC it is called the firework Galaxy. Love the widefield with both in the FOV
