Barnard 33 & NGC 2024 - Horsey and Flame under Moonlight...

Hi All,

Despite the bright Moon over the last couple of nights, I couldn't resist trying out my recent acquisition (a Televue Genesis F/5 4" refractor) I chose the Horsehead and Flame nebulas, because the field of view of the Genesis suits these 2 objects.

I managed to grab 18 x 10 minute subs in Ha and OIII on the 29th and 30th, and have just processed them up. Despite the Moonlight shining brightly, and causing lots of noise, the noise has cleaned up quite well.

Anyway, here it is:

Full-sized version, and full details on my website, here

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,

Richie

P.S. Olly - it works! Boy, does it ever! :)

Thanks all.

Yes, I am very very pleased - really cannot wait until the moon is less obtrusive - I have a feeling that the contrast will really improve then as well!

Added to which, the stars are so pin-sharp compared to what I am used to, I think I made a good choice - thanks again to NickH for pointing Olly's sale out to me :)
