adamsp123
Horsehead from Sat - Sun 24/25 Oct.Details - clear with good seeing and some intermittent clouds, windy oh yes!!11 x 180 secs ISO 1600 11 x 300 secs ISO 800 unmodded Canon 1000D CLS LP filter 200mm F/4 Newt QHY5 on finderscope + PHD and 2 Gluweins!!! Stacked with DSS and paintshop pro'd.Evolving the settings on PHD and getting pretty good round stars even with the gusty wind although the scope is fairly sheltered.Needs a bit more work methinks, more exposure time and better processing, but anyway

Mark at Beaufort
PeterThat is a great astro photo. I never thought you could get the 'horsey' with an unmodded DSLR. Very well done - I think I might have a go now that Orion is becoming better placed.Mark
adamsp123
Thanks very much for all the positve comments! makes me want me to do a lot more after some recent technical problems and carp weather frustrating the bejesus out of me.Slowly getting to grips with the processing need to work out a method to reduce the effects of the brightest objects where appropriate plus a whole lot more.Just wish we had more clear skies Pete
