A Couplw From Last Night

Hi there

Though last night didn't offer the best seeing I managed to get a couple of sketches down.

Hope you like them.

NGC 7243

This is a huge cluster in Lacerta with a nice double sitting at it's heart.

M2

There were many more stars, but the seeing didn't permit me to see them distinctly.

The Veil Nebula

A beautiful object that required an O-III filter to see.

Steve, I use the fonts that come with Photoshop CS2, there's a great selection and I like using different ones for different sketches, though I have to admit, I really like the font on the Veil sketch.

Great work Paul - do you do these by hand at the eyepiece, directly into photoshop, or do you touch up the handdrawn stars in any editing software at all?

I sketch at the eyepiece, scan the image onto Photoshop and use the brush tool to overlay the stars to give them that fuzzy appearance.
