The sky was tolerably good last night but there were still wisps of cloud an an overall mistiness lit up by the Moon but I was determined to see the Perseids shower. While waiting (unsuccessfully as it transpired) I had a go at imaging an old favourite but in a wide field context. 13 subframes of 300 seconds each with my SXVF-M25C and 200mm Skywatcher Reflector. I also captured NGC5198 and NGC5169, just visible on the right hand side of the frame.

Ironically, I did see a meteor trail but coming from the south as it did, it wasn't what I was looking for, beautiful sight though it was!
