Hi, Hope everyone's well. Looking for some advice ona  a new telescope recently bouight (10 inch Newtonian) I did noticed some chips around the mirror's edge when I was looking down the tube so I took the tube off and have pics of these issues. My question is whether this is worthy of return given it is a brand new telescope (I don't think the chips will affect performance in any meaningful way). Any thoughts appreciated

Yes it’s just where the coating is missing due to the clips during the coating process, but it’s just on the bevelled edge rather than the actual mirror surface. Completely normal and nothing to worry about.

Don't worry about the wee flecks of dust either before you put the mirror back in.  You shouldn't need to clean the mirror unless it is proper grotty.

That's almost exactly what mine looked like when I first cleaned it.  Legit thought you used my picture lol.
