Looking at a wider field view, it gets even nicer, with Ganymede way off to the left and tiny Amalthea much closer to the planet. I wonder if anyone can capture 5 moons tonight. There is also Thebe at mag 15.47 between Io and Europa, but that is probably a stretch too far!

Looking at the weather in Hastings right now, I can't foresee it clearing up enough to see this 😥

OK I may regret tempting fate here but we now have completely clear skies on the East Sussex coast! 😀

What a sight. Thanks for the heads up. I captured the event. I will post in the imaging session later when I have done it properly. It looks fake as if the moons are pasted in a straight line.

Fantastic image @Kon, puts mine to shame but here it is. Good views here despite patchy cloud and variable seeing.

Not at all (different setups). It is good for the record and quite a sight as I already said. I have not seen this before.

Nice to see the pics and reports on this.

I ended up going out for family a meal and then to the cinema so I've only just been able to get a scope out. Just 2 moons in a line now with Io having gone into hiding 🙄

Nice details in the NEB though.
