Eclipse

Hi All,

With the Eclipse coming up very soon i was wonder what everyones plan's were for the event?

I will be using Solar Projection onto a Card and making drawings from them scope iam planing to use is the Celestron 80mm F/5.

Fingers Crossed for a Sunny day.

Forecast is for cloud and rain in Hampshire, so as with the night time events, i won't be seeing anything. A bit like last years partial eclipse. PANTS!!!!

Weathers not looking too good for tomorrow here in Leeds either, but I'll take the Megrez/EQ5 and solar filter to work if it's visible hoping to take a few images, but not holding my breath.

I booked the day off work, I will be using Baader astrosolar safety film and with any luck taking some pics afocal style though my 5 inch refractor well that is if its not cloudy :tearyeyed:

Things are looking slightly more hopeful this morning. Both Metcheck and Metoffice have given sunny spells for this morning. So i'm taking the camera and solar film to work too.

Last year Ant had to talk me through the eclipse onthe phone. He had blue skies in Essex while i had cloud in Hampshire which cleared to perfect blue sky 20mins after the eclipse finished :x

Hopefully staying fine, have a good view south from the garden to project the image onto, of all things my desk blotter. I will try to take a few pics of the projection.

Well it's dire here. Had some early blue sky but that's now replaced with 100% cloud cover.

Marvellous, not a cloud in sight, and what do I get, just a grazing touch a long the bottom of the Sun, guesstimate at about 5% or less. Unfortunately, I had to be out, so missed the live coverage. Does anyone know if there are any reruns available??
