Loads of detail there, perhaps just ease back on sharpening fine detail just a tad and try to reduce the yellow? 

It will be easier on original data but perhaps something like this?

Then select around mars and fill the background black to get rid of the gradients.

I had a look at Mars with my ETX105 last night too, under very disappointing conditions. Manged to view the southern polar ice cap, but very little surface detail visible. Best view to date was during the opposition of July 2003 with my TeleVue Ranger.

Thats great,what did you use to do the adjustments......this was the one i meant to post,that one was messing around with virtual filters...lol

Great image !

The seeing here was very good for a change and my 100mm Tak was showing those crinkley edges to the dark areas and the dark curved mass to the north. The south polar cap looked like a bright white button.

Nice to see these features imaged :smiley:
