We're out in the sticks on the Sandwich side of Canterbury but have driven through Old Wives Lees a couple of times.

We moved here 8 years ago, but unfortunately it's no longer as dark as it was even then.😒

Ah, I know the area pretty well. I was with SEKAS for many years up to about 2000. Some of the best observing we had, actually, was at a sea horizon somewhere near St Margarets.

I'm a  recent SEKAS member myself - a great bunch of people.

Thanks for the heads up about St. Margaret's. My wife and I very briefly explored that way last year but the unmade up roads eventually defeated us.  It seems as though we ought to have a longer look, especially as I've now got a Sky Quality Meter.

I completely understand what the group are discussing with regard to headlight etiquette in numbers but I'm on my own and it's perfect.
