Trapezium E and F stars

What a great evening for observing! I took the 16" Lightbridge and decided to have a look at the Trapezium in Orion, among other great sites. The object was to try and see the E and F stars. Well with the 32mm eyepiece in and the Tal 3 X barlow I saw them! yippie! They were very faint but could see them without averted vision. Well it's another tick in the long list of astronomy must sees.

cheers

Well done, Sam. I had a look for them on Friday, but no luck in my 8" - maybe a bigger scope is required (or mine isn't collimated right!)

I found that I could see the E & F stars with my 8" dobsonian on a good night. It was in good collimation which helps pick out these much fainter stars from the glow of brighter stars nearby.
