Just as well there isn't a "Willie Weasel" club - he was rather naughty and often got run over I seem to remember :rolleyes2:

Anybody want to join my "Green Cross Code Man / Darth Vader" Club ? :icon_biggrin: (you get to wear the uniform !!!!)

Hoping to get out with the children in school tonight, I'll certainly have a list of the prominent objects along the terminator.

I have a couple of pdfs that I've posted before from ages ago!

Can't remember whose they are or I'd give them the credit ;)

Thanks for these, note that there are some good stickies in the Observing - Lunar section which are worth looking at.

Love the Moon Phase Photo Maps Stu.  Alas, for me, the app is only available for the iPhone  😭.    Anything like it for Android does anyone know?

No, unfortunately there isn't Paul, but the same maps can be accessed on the Derekscope site, or purchased from Astrovisuals

The biggest issue is that they were taken in Aus so the orientation is weird. You can allow for this though. Would be great to recreate from Europe, trouble is getting enough clear weather to do it!

Paul I use this which gives similar info and detail - https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4769 - I have amended the previous post which was incorrect for a Newt.

Just click on the Moon and it downloads a TIF file to get a very detailed view of the Moon. The link above is for use with my Newt but you can get other views to match your OTA.

Don't miss it if you can get out, going back to telescope!

Thank you Paul, I was quietly dying from a Cold and saw this a while later, I was risen from the dead and took a quick look and wow, you were spot on, what a placement even a while later.

Thanks, Astro exposure, although short was a good tonic, well until this morning that is.

You're showing your age with the "Tufty Badge" Ben. I haven't heard that mentioned since Noah was a lad.

Yeah gads, what a blast from my childhood. Funny how the old grey matter gets confused though, I was certain dear old Tufty was a Fox!

That's a very good app which I use too.

The thing I love about the Moon Phase Photo Maps is the way it properly shows the terminator and labels just the prominent craters on it. I wish there was an app which combined the functionality of the Moon Atlas 3D with better terminator representation.

Many thank Philip, I'll take a look.  I downloaded LunarMap HD yesterday which looks fabulous.  (couldn't download it previously as my phone wasn't up to it, but I've just changed it).  I also use Virtual Moon Atlas on my laptop. I'm really frustrated that the Moon Phase Photo Maps aren't available for Android as I mentioned to Stu.
