Just begun using Imppg

Hi all, just thought I'd play around with Imppg solar imaging software to see if it makes any difference to my images. Attached is from an avi file taken during the summer months with my single stack lunt 60mm

It's not been the most exciting of stars this year

For my taste that looks a little over-sharpened, perhaps?

As per James, looks a bit over cooked best not to go too mad with imppg settings, I usually hold off a bit and finish images in P'Shop.
Illumination looks a bit uneven, did you take flats.

Yeah, I agree. Soft and flowing is the look to strive for.

You'll find ImgPPG is very capable....practise, practise........

Yeah, everyone, I thought I'd overcooked it too. Just practising, lol. Appreciate your help. Still finding it hard to layer disk with prom image in photoshop, also, yeah, I need to take flats in future too. Didn't do that.

Some raw png stacks for you peps to play around with, full disk and using 3x barlow, thanks. Ps, made a flat from the prom image, don't know if that would work? Anyway I did manage a combination of surface and prom action, I know it's not brilliant and needs some TLC but at least I'm learning new skills by trial and error, lol.

As for the last one you posted, the etalon was somewhat off-band; this is indicated by these flat, featureless splotches around the sunspot (I recognize the effect from my old setup using Lunt 35):

When you're tuning the etalon, a good rule of thumb is "being on band = darkest possible image".

Thanks, appreciate all the help. Hopefully be ready for when the sun wakes up and mercury transit if we get some clear sky on the 11th.

Be prepared for a really tiny Mercury. It is absolutely minute compared with the sun's disk.
