I'm guessing that multiple topics have been merged and there's a small bug in the forum software that doesn't handle references to the merged topics quite as well as it might, leaving "dangling" references.  So Carole's link to a topic entitled "Hope this isn't an SGL member . . ." (topic id 342936) no longer points to valid content because that topic has been merged into topic 342981 ("Daily Mail Article").
