EQMOD Toolbox Registering and Setup

Hello all.

To start off, I have read a couple threads about these issues and none seem relevant to my particular issue.

I have EQASCOM Toolbox open, and when I click "register" I get 2 error messages that pop up. 

1. Titled: Error "Unexpected error; quitting" 

2. Titled: EQASCOM_Toolbox "Success!"

okay, so I go to Driver Setup and have the following parameters setup:

Timeout 1000

Retry 2

Baud 9600

Port Com7 (double and triple checked)

Latitude (example) N 33 22 11

Longitude (example) W 123 45 67

Guiding ST-4 

all other settings are "out of the box" 

upon clicking "OK" I get an error titled EQMOD "Invalid Parameter" 

I have double checked that all of my Lat/Long information is correct and there are no periods or commas. 

Can someone help me out here

Stellarium, but I was not aware I needed to have stellarium open while setting up? I'm brand new, this is my first time setting up software, could you walk me through your process?

I use CdC but similar process.

Connect up your mount, double check the comms port.

Open the planetarium program, look for connect telescope, open and select EQMod ASCOM HEQ5/6, select properties and ensure all the settings are correct. then connect the telescope...

The EQMod control screen should come up.

 

(I've had to use the sim, not in the observatory at the moment, but you get the idea)

How are you connecting your mount to the computer? Can you post a screenshot of the toolbox and driver setup screens?

Hi

Substitute a value not greater that 59 for the 67, then on the toolbox screen, hit 'ASCOM Connect'.

If you 'right-click' on the EQMOD Toolbox icon and select 'Run as Administrator' you should just get the "Success!" window.

I have this same problem same message. Did you sort it? I can't aee where he means re '67' ?

O right well I have my location in correctly so thats not the problem. I have had SharpCap and Stellarium controlling my mount on 2 different laptops indoors. I have taken it outside now I can't get a connection to the mount.

Don't get too fixated on the number. The longitude 123 45 67W was only an example. Obviously that cannot be correct as 67 is higher than 59.

Well what do you mean by GPS? I didn't know it was invloved.

I am not aware of a GPS on the mount or on the laptop so wheres does GPS come in?

All we have to work with is that moving your setup from one place to another causes it to fail. As you will have already tried the suggestions in the thread, I guessed location and GPS.

Do some mounts have a GPS in then?
