Going To AstroFest 2009 ?

AstroFest is the 6th and 7th of Feb 2007.

I shall be going on Saturday the 7th - may not be able to afford much , but at least I can dream

I have one it doubles as a teleportation device as well I just have to swap the modules one for time travel the other for Space.

A great event, in a grossly undersized venue, and a 'pain in the butt' place to get to.

As Michael said "too crowded", and as John said "a bit like being on the tube during rush hour and trying to look a telescopes etc, at the same time".

I used to go, but the venue and the location, 'killed it' for me.

I'd sooner drive three hours to somewhere in the Midlands for a decent venue, than travel to Kensington.

We're thinking of going this year. Never been before. The comments about it being so crowded puts me off somewhat as I get very edgy in cramped places. In the Astronomy Now magazine it says that it has three floors which makes it sound quite big, but I guess that depends on how big the floors are?

Yes, I will be going, it's close to home. Though, I have not decided on the day, or days, as the program was not on the Astrofest website, the last time I looked at it.

Already booked my tickets, both days. I think if you go just for the trade fair side of it then it can be cramped and dissapointing, but attending some of the lectures makes a much better day of it.

First time I went just for the trade fair. Ok

Next time booked one session of lectures. Much better

Last time booked all four sessions of lectures. Great time.

As for being a hard place to get to, I'm in Brighton and train and tube is very easy from here.

I would not really be interested in the talks etc but would the trade stands actually be an advatage over just buying on the internet?
