Saturn and Jupiter 08/09 July

Hi Everyone,

In all my excitement at having captured Mars for the first time I almost forgot that earlier in the evening I had also image Jupiter and Saturn.  Obviously they are both very low in particular Jupiter, so I was pleased with the way these came out.

Both captured with same setup as previous Mars post i.e. Skymax 150 pro, Asi 224MC, ZWO ADC etc, and processed using PIPP, AS!2 and PS.

These were the first two images captured with the new 224mc and in hindsight I think I could have got the the fps much higher, but was also having USB3 port issues.

Jupiter: 750 frames stacked from 3400 captured at 37fps

Saturn: 1000 frames stacked from 6165 captured at 25 fps. (Slight crop on this image to remove a strange blue border)

Thanks

Martin

Two lovely images well done.

Thanks folks,  I tried again last night as the seeing seemed marginally better, but I really struggled with focus so I did not end up with anything of any real use.

For planetary I ususally swing to a nearby star, tweak the gain and exposure in firecapture then use the Mk1 eyeball, but as I say really struggled, so have ordered a Bahtinov mask for the Mak in the hope of taking a little of the guess work out of focusing.

Thanks again

Martin
