HA - New AR 8-5-18 and two older ones.

The last of the sunny summer days for a while I fear.  I just packed away when the heavens opened.  Anyway, the seeing was a bit more consistent than yesterday so I captured the new AR creeping around the NW rim (yet uncategorised) mentioned first thing this morning by @michael.h.f.wilkinson and a couple of older ones (one is AR2708).  Usual ZWO ASI 174MM and ImPPG.

I can only get 50 fps out of my 174 (USB 3 model running on USB 2) whatever I do so can I assume it is because it won't read any faster to my hard drive?  I am not very good with computer hardware and hate PCs with a passion but I'm stuck with that for Firecapture.  I will try @JamesF oaCapture on my MacBook Pro again if I get chance.

have you manualy raised your virtual memory ? its default lets windows set it but its useally set very low, depending how fast your cpu is, my processer is a quad core 2.2 ghz and i have a base off 2044 and a max of 6044. charl.

what it dos is give you more page file it speeds everything up, but you have to try different values on diff pcs.

Good work, Chris.

You didn't say what your exposure setting is.  I use the 174 all the time and speed is never an issue.  Charl's suggestion regarding virtual memory may help some.

Thanks for the shares.

Hi, for solar, exposure is not the issue and is usually in the region of 3-5 ms. I use an ROI of around 720 x 960.
