No harm no foul, not bad as forgetting to remove counter weight from mount as I unscrewed it and watched tumble forward to ground.

The Suns Very powerful especially through a scope, I nearly melted through a dust cap in seconds. I thought I had capped the end of the scope and refitted the original diagonal after removing the wedge. It's was.smoking in a second! 

At least no damage to anything else.

Prevention - use  a 2" dust cap.

thanks Pete , agreed mate, ive done the dustcap on the focuser a few times, so I got some astro eng alloy dust caps and ended up burning the parm of my hand , but I havnt done that one this year yet. charl.

thanks Dave, it good to know I'm not alone mate. quark was working fine thismorrning when grabbing a look though the cloud, theres some nice proms on the oncoming limb if you get the chance. charl.

thanks Michael, tried that but thay will not stop on with the blocking filter part of the quark sticks out, might try to find a deeper 2inch cap that will do the trick. charl.
