Hi,

I've just started using this software and whilst using it I am saving the integrated (stacked ) images as FITS files however I am unable to open the images in Photoshop to do some processing .  Do I need a plugin of some sort to open the images,.

I have seen one called Fits Liberator which appears to be a Photoshop plugin, is this what I need to get or is there anything else I should use.

I always save to .tiff as my last change before going into Photoshop. I've never come across a fits plug in for PS, but if there's one out there I'd give it a go .....

Thanks for the quick reply.

When saving as Tiff files I can now open them in Photoshop :),  Astro Imaging is going to be a massive learning curve :).

Below is the link I found that appears to be a FITS plugin for Photoshop, not sure if it is the correct thing as I found it when searching how to open FITS files in Photoshop.

If you have Registax, then I think you can load as FITS and save as TIFF.     Not sure if there will be 'unseen' compression etc....

FITS Liberator has been around for quite a few years, it can be downloaded from here:

Fits liberator is a great tool for inserting fits files into Photoshop. both as individual RGB files or combined. There are a number of tutorials out there that show the best methods to load your images into photoshop.

I always use FITS Liberator to import my MONO data. Earlier versions of the software (pre version 3.0) have a PhotoShop plug-in but later versions are stand-alone and don't include the plug-in.

I use CC version of photoshop and I use fitsplug. It's not free but it certainly wasn't expensive. can't remember how much but it wasn't more than £20-£30.
