After imaging Venus yesterday I decided to grab a couple of interesting craters as well. The usual set up, C9.25/Asi120mm + x1.8 Barlow.

Atlas, Hercules still in shadow.

Gutenberg (top), Goclenius (lower) + a series of fascinating rilles.

Beautiful detail, very nice results!

How many subs? What was the seeing like?

The first image was approx 7,800 frames, the second 8,800. I stacked 25% of the frames for both images. Then sharpened in IMPPG.

The seeing seemed pretty decent to be honest, not particularly transparent, but stable. The moon was nice and high which would have certainly helped.

It was much worse later by the time Jupiter had risen to a decent altitude.

Thanks @bunnygod1 - I've been using a C9.25 and ZWO camera that's why I wandered. I've only been getting 1000 subs so definitely try and get more but stack a much lower %.

Do you always aim for around 8000 and stack 25%?

I stacked 10% and also 25% in Autostakkert2. There isn't much difference in the final image between the two. I guess it probably depends on the conditions, when you decide what percentage to stack.

I imaged for 180 seconds, which gave me the amount of frames. I would always capture more than a 1000 if possible.

I also use the Televue x1.8 Barlow,  it seems to be just about right for my C9.25.
