July 25th - H Alpha - Nice Prominences - ** Image Replaced**

** I've replaced the first image with another frame with better detail.  I've changed the details of the frame below so they are correct.

I woke early to wall to wall sunshine, set up by 6.00 am but had to wait for the sun to rise into view.  As I did so cloud rapidly started to form and head my way from the W.  Luckily it was still mostly clear when it rose into view at 6.14 am. I had until 6.30 am when it was about 90% cloud.

There were some fine prominences spread well around the limb with the best in the NW where there were some of the prominences had become detached.  Good filaments with the strongest being the long one in the E.

Single frames taken with the Lunt 60 DS and Olympus E-M10 at 500 asa.  First image taken at 6.28 am on 1/30 sec and the second/third frames taken at 6.28 am on 1/5 sec.

The proms are fantastic Paul! It looks like a slow-mo of a drop of milk landing on a floor.

Many thanks Charles.  By jove you're right.    Still, it's no use crying over spilt milk :laughing4:
