Aurora tonight?

Recommended Posts

Looking through the forum, I have seen that there was a fantastic aurora last night.  I was just wondering if there was any chance at all of it being visible from southern England tonight.

Looking unlikely. Keep an eye on this site:

Sadly I rely on their email alert service and didn't get a warning last night. They have admitted something went wrong, which is decent of them!

Keep an eye SGL too. Disscusion started here fairly early on.

Got my original e-mail alert from SpaceWeather.Com

POLAR GEOMAGNETIC STORM: Today, March 6th, Earth is entering a stream of solar wind, and the encounter has sparked a G1-class geomagnetic storm.  Inside the stream, magnetic fields have a negative polarity--a condition which favors auroras.  High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for Northern Lights.  Visit Spaceweather.com for more information and updates.
