I'm really impressed with free Atik App for IOS. It only refers to Atik cameras but it works very well. If you want infinite possibilities then Sky Safari Pro does everything you need for FOV simulations, visual and imaging.

Shameless self-promotion for DSO imaging (not visual or Solar system):

http://www.blackwaterskies.co.uk/p/imagingtoolbox.html

Whole-sky real images using the DSS - pan around by dragging to get the best framing, find objects by name or multiple catalogue numbers, comprehensive scope and camera database (or calculate your own), multiple reticles with full rotation and panning - compare set ups or lay out a mosaic. I could go on!

Another vote for the excellent Blackwaterskies site.

Strangely enough I stumbled upon this not long after I created this thread.

I'm a fan and have been using it since,  great tool.
