NGC 7000 and IC 5070 - 8 hours DSLR

Found a new workflow in Pixinsight and tried it on my data of NGC 7000 and IC 5070, the North American Nebula and Pelican Nebula.

I am very pleased with the results considering the gear used! Very clean, low noise even at 100%, without losing detail. I managed to pull out a lot of the faint dust clouds without blowing the stars too.

Almost 8 hours (88*180s+41*300s)

Canon EOS 1100Da @ISO800.

Canon EF 300/4L IS lens

HEQ5 Pro

Orion Magnificent Mini Autoguider

Stacked and processed in Pixinsight, only final touches in Photoshop. Lights, bias and flats, no darks.

I hope you like it!

Nice one! I like it!!!

What was your new find in PI?

Thank you! :)

The workflow was from Lightvortexsomething website and involved processing the RGB and Lum separately and then combining with LRGBCombination. Also noise reduction in the linear state using the AtrousWaveletThingy. I'm still learning the tricks of PI :)
