ZS71 lunar.

Alien 13

Recommended Posts

These are a few of my most recent (last couple of months) lunar shots taken with the ZS71 at prime focus (400mm ish) with a DSLR in single shot mode, a couple of the images are made from stacks of 2-6 subs processed through PIPP and registax .

The images where taken using the liveview screen to focus and give an indication of the correct exposure which is normally around 1/200 second.

The images that have been stacked, for example the full moon does loose detail around the rim not sure why so I tend to stick to single shot when I can anyway thanks for looking.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments it is suprising even for me what a small refractor with some ED glass can achieve, my next step will be to find a decent barlow so I am not having to throw 2/3 of the frame away.
