May 20, 2015: Stunning proms in the morning

Recommended Posts

Just had the scope out (the little SM-60) for a quick grab and go H-alpha session. The scope was slightly off-band to start out, but already showed a series of proms on the western limb. The top one looking like a detached V shape. Tuning properly showed a lot more, and some brighter arcs on the eastern limb, both north and south of the equator, by the looks of it. Several brilliant plage areas and  a couple of filaments were showing too.

Well worth a look if you have a chance
